Yes! Facebook accepts
three forms of passwords. Isn't it confusing even shocking too, I was also
having the same reaction until I tried it my self on Facebook to
believe it. As
we know Facebook has multiple login options like you can
use your e-mail address, your Facebook profile user name(your vanity URL), or
you can use your registered mobile number associated to Facebook. But how can a
Facebook profile accept three passwords forms?
You can log in to your
Facebook account profile using the password that you have created and also you
can construct other passwords by toggling the case (Upper or Lower) of the
characters of your original password.
For example, if your
password is f@cebookSecurity!, you
can convert the upper case characters to lower case (and vice-versa). So you
get the toggled password string as – F@CEBOOKsECURITY!
– This is also accepted by Facebook to log on through.
There are
many other variations you can form as well like toggling the whole password as
F@cEbOOkSeCUriTy!. Facebook recently introduced this feature to reduce the logged
in errors on Facebook. It is because of the caps lock key on/off to prevent double entering password. Actually
you can say this is a feature added by facebook.
According to this ZDNet story that explains why Facebook allows users
to login through multiple passwords. According to Facebook:
Facebook actually accepts three forms of your password:
- Your original password.
- Your original password with the first letter capitalized. This is only for mobile devices, which sometimes capitalize the first character of a word.
- Your original password with the case reversed, for those with a caps lock key on.
Enjoy using toggled variation
of you facebook password to log in through facebook.
