How to Download all your Data from Facebook


Facebook has added a new feature to your account a download link. By this you can download a copy of all your Facebook data as a zip file.  This file include your photos, videos, your timeline information, your friend list, notes, 

events, your sent and receive messages that you have uploaded to your account.


Facebook gives you two different ways to download all your data; one is download a copy link and the other is expanded archive link. This option was not included in the older version of Facebook. Expanded Archive contains even more additional information about your account like account status history, your address, apps, birthday visibility, email addresses added to your account or even those you may have removed, friends requests (pending sent and received), people who are subscribed to you and more.

How can I download my information from Facebook?

You can download your information from the Account Settings page.

1.       Click the account menu at the top right of any Facebook page



2.      Choose Account Settings
3.      Click on "Download a copy of your Facebook data"



4.      Receive an email to the email address that’s listed on your Facebook.


5.      Once you receive your email, you will have to re-enter your Facebook password.



6.      Click Download Archive


7.   Finally, you will receive a zip file [ as image below ]. 




For Expanded Archive – the link to download is on the same page where you download your information.

Same steps you have to follow:

  • Just click on the expanded archive link [ image shown below ].


  • Receive an email to the email address that’s listed on your Facebook.
  • Once you receive your email, you will have to re-enter your Facebook password.
  • Click Start My Archive
  • Finally, you will receive a zip file.
