How to Control Facebook Tags

One of the most popular features on Facebook is tagging. A tag is a special kind of link. When you tag someone, you create a link to their timeline and they'll be notified. Also, if you or a
friend tags someone in your post and its set to Friends or more, the post could be visible to the audience you selected plus friends of the tagged person.

Some of the time you don’t want yourself to be tagged and visible to the audience.
Facebook provides you with the power of customizing your timeline and tagging options.

How to Customize Your Timeline and Tagging :

STEP 1#: Go to the Privacy Settings of your Facebook account. The privacy menu can be accessed by clicking the white arrow pointing down near the Home tab in the top right area of the screen.

STEP #2: Once you click it you will have to choose the option called Privacy Settings from the drop down menu.

STEP #3: Inside the Privacy Settings menu Facebook presents various options to fine tune your profiles settings, but for this Facebook tip we will be customizing the Timeline and Tagging options only.

STEP #4: Click on the Edit Settings button for the Timeline and Tagging options.

STEP #5: Once you click on the Edit Settings button, a new pop-up screen will open, showing a list of possible settings, it will look something like this:

STEP #6: As you can see, I marked the option in PINK [above image ]. By clicking on this option in the list, Facebook will ask you to Enable or Disable this setting, we want it Enabled [ as shown below ].

Now that you have this setting Enabled, each time someone tags you in a picture or a post the tag will be sent for verification before it is posted on your Timeline. So now you control your timeline once again, no more spam pictures or post tags.
