Monday Social Round Up: The History Of Google’s Social Media


Social media has become an integral part of modern society. There are general social networks with user bases larger than the population of most countries. Google is one of a huge company. But there is one thing that Google has yet to accomplish – build the world’s biggest social media network. Sure there’s Gmail and Feedburner and several other really good Google products, but Google wants the big fish. They want the Facebook killer. If everybody had been to take on Facebook, Google comes with the technology talent, deep purse, and additionally customer loyalty needed to give it a fair shot.



Still, Google hasn’t had the best track record when it comes to social media tries. Someday, if Google keeps buying companies, they might succeed and build the next big thing, but until then we can just watch a graphical timeline with text record every little acquisition.
